Mami YAMASAKI 山崎雅未
Painter
I paint the world of night.
For me, painting the night is also painting light.
Beyond physical light, I explore whether light can embody something like hope.
My work begins with real cities and places, but gradually moves away from reality through layers of paint, erasure, chance, and reconstruction.
From a distance, they look like urban landscapes.
Upon closer, they dissolve into colors, traces, and abstract forms.
